How to get there & park
From Corpach head west on the A830 Mallaig road, after 10 miles at Glenfinnan pass the visitor centre and monument and cross the bridge over the river Finnan. Continue up the hill on the main road and look for the turn right to the station where there is some parking.
Description
There are two walks one a small loop in the woodland below the station
museum. The second takes off the first and crosses under the
railway then leads up to a viewpoint of Glenfinnan and the
station. It is possible to follow waymarks across the hill(rough and boggy) to above the viaduct. A good place to watch the steam trains. Then continue down under the viaduct onto the estate road. Turn right and to avoid walking up the main road continue on the Slattach road to the Glenfinnan House Hotel and there turn right up the old road to the station.
Footwear
Possibly shoes for the woodland walk, but the walk up to
the view point is usually wet so boots are recommended.
Gradients & terrain
The woodland is sheltered and not too steep, the view point
involves a short uphill burst and then some rough hillside along to the viaduct.
