How to get there & park
From Corpach you can go either by Fort William, Corran Ferry, Strontian
and Salen or by Glenfinnan and Lochailort but it is probably quicker by Lochailort. The circular trip (100 miles around) is recommended .From Corpach take the A830 towards Mallaig. After 28 miles turn left onto the A861 to Salen. 17 miles further on just before you cross Shiel bridge take the side road to the right to Dorlinn and Castle Thioram. At the the end
of this road there is a small car park. Grid ref: NM666723
Description
A short walk takes you towards the castle except at high spring tide
when the castle can get cut off. The silver walk (so called
because it leads past trees planted to commemerate Queen
Victoria's silver jubilee) heads along the coast. It deteriorates
as it enters ground invaded by Rhododendron and becomes quite
difficult in places.
Footwear
Shoes for the castle, the Silver walk is wet and muddy, boots are best.
Gradients & terrain
A level walk if it were not for the Rhododendrons and fallen trees.
