Description of walks
Well sign posted Forestry Commission walks; a variety of walks up and down the river and into the Caledonian pine woods. Going upstream on the west bank there is a good riverside path which leads into the native wood. At the point where it leaves the river it is possible to continue to the suspension bridge just below the Loch Garry dam. Cross the bridge, which is strong enough for only two at a time! The path on the east side is much wetter - wellies?
Going downstream the best path is on the East side which leads all the way to Invergarry. Here it is possible to cross by a foot bridge - interesting and then back to the car park up the west side by the public road. It is possible to follow the riverside on the west side at first very pleasantly through fields and then the path is overhung by Rhododendrons and with the occasional windblown tree accross the path.
This is a good fishing river - details from the Invergarry Hotel. It is also a good white water river. Kayaks and rafts can be seen particularly when the dam is releasing.
