How to get there & park
From Corpach go towards Fot William. After 2 miles at the traffic lights turn left onto the A82 Inverness road. After another 2 miles turn right at Torlundy and go over the railway bridge and turn right again on to the forest road which leads to the North Face car park. Grid ref: NN145764.

Description
The walk is the standard approach for climbers to the north face of Ben Nevis. From the car park follow the signs which lead onto part of the old puggy rail line going towards Fort William. At the Allt a'Mhuillin there is a style and the path follows up the east side of the burn. This section is steep, rough and boggy in places. An alternative is to walk up the forest roads from the Nevis Range car park. This takes about ten minutes longer but the gradients and surface conditions are much easier. In the dark with a heavy pack this is probably the better route! At the 250 metre contour the slope eases off and you reach the point where the Allt a'Mhuillin is fed into the Alcan hydro electric scheme. From this point the path has recently been rebuilt and leads easily up to just below the CIC hut. At this point it is necessary to cross the Allt a' Mhuillin to get to the hut or to get onto the path which leads across to the Half Way lochan.

Gradients & terrain
Apart from the first 200m and a few short sections the gradient is easy but the CIC hut is at nearly 700m
